History
SKYLINE AVIATION is the go-to partner when it comes to providing specialist contract air support. For over 30 years various customers have come to rely on the company’s wide range of aerial services. The company is the Netherlands MoD’s preferred contract air supplier, having operated under a successive series of multiyear contracts and extensions since its foundation.
1991 - company is founded
Initially, SKYLINE AVIATION operated out of Den Helder Airport. However, quickly the decision was made to detach its Learjet workhorse to Groningen Airport Eelde (GAE), also in the north of the Netherlands, given the latter’s runway length being more suitable. Some years later, SKYLINE AVIATION’s full aircraft fleet and air headquarters migrated to GAE.
1991
Acquired by the Forum Group
In 2010 SKYLINE AVIATION is acquired by the FORUM GROUP owned by former RNLAF AH-64 pilot Stef Have and is joined by AEC AIR SUPPORT, the Group’s dedicated ISR business unit. This is done under the joint AEC SKYLINE banner. In addition to SKYLINE AVIATION and AEC AIR SUPPORT, the FORUM GROUP also includes Breda International Airport located in the south of the Netherlands which is home to AEC AIR SUPPORT and its growing range of ISR and subsequent C4ISR & Cyber related activities.
2010
Under contract with USAFE
Operating out of Zweibrücken airport in Germany under a permit issued by German authorities, SKYLINE AVIATION’s contract air fleet starts supporting Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Close Air Support (CAS) training on behalf of the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE) in 2021.
2021
Teaming with Top Aces
During the 2023 NIDV Exhibition Defence & Security SKYLINE AVIATION announces various exciting new partnerships. Chief among these is the cooperation with TOP ACES, a leader in ADAIR and JTAC technology that is active in North America and in Europe. It has the largest fleet of commercially operated fighter aircraft in active service and is the world’s only commercial owner/operator of the F-16.
One year later, in 2024, the SKYLINE AVIATION (AEC SKYLINE)-TOP ACES team is awarded an initial ADAIR contract by the RNLAF.
2023
Growing C4ISR portfolio
In April 2024 SKYLINE AVIATION’s sister company AEC AIR SUPPORT is revamped into SKYLINE CDS – for Critical Data Solutions. The name change better reflects the growing range of activities that are performed by this dedicated C4ISR & Cyber business unit including the provision of specialised systems integration expertise, cloud solutions and technologies aimed at optimising C4I interoperability and standardisation.
